A Canowindra man has been threatened with a knife and then taken to an ATM machine to hand over money in an early morning home invasion robbery today.
According to Canowindra Police, a 24-year-old man was asleep and alone in a house in Gaskill Street when he was woken at 2.30am by a 19-year-old youth armed with a knife.
The attacker demanded money, then took the victim to a downtown ATM machine.
“Money was taken out and turned over to him, but it was a small amount,” a police offer reported.
“Apparently both men are known to each other.”
The victim called Cowra police after the incident, and the 19-year-old was quickly detained on Gaskill Street and taken to the Orange regional police headquarters for questioning.
