Just a Short Millthorpe – Heritage with Style

16 January, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Millthorpe is the ideal getaway; only an hours drive from Canowindra. The village boasts award winning restaurants, arts and antiques, a museum, boutique shops, hotels, wine tasting and accommodation. Millthorpe is located in Central NSW in the heart of a dynamic food and cool climate wine region and is home to a vibrant community of local artists and has a diverse range of talented people living and working in the small town.

Millthorpe is a living museum being home to a community of about 700 people and comes alive on the weekends with locals, visitors and tourists alike. With such a rich heritage and seasonal climate, fabulous food, wine and wonderful people it’s always a great time to visit Millthorpe.

Take a step back in time, take a stroll around the streets and relax, unwind and soak up the beauty and elegance of a bygone era.

Meet with Gerry @ The Commercial – if you love the Irish accent, I am sure that you will be charmed. His restaurant has won in 2013, Best Steak in SMH Good Pub Food Guide, and in 2014, Best Burger in SMH Good Pub Food Guide.

If you want a pub that has no pokies, no TV, no keno, no TAB, and you are up for a warm friendly chat, then go and visit with Gerry.

Mary at the Blue Gift Shop offers online convenience, beautifully priced, hand-picked collections. You can also have a massage in great surroundings.

At Olde Tyme Delights you will find that treasure you have been looking for, fragrant candles, modern jewellery, antiques and a mix of eclectic goods.

Millthorpe Garden Nursery showcases a wide range of fruit and ornamental trees, shrubs and seedlings. The Nursery prides itself in supplying you with the trees and plants you want, when you want them!
A visit to Millthorpe just isn’t complete without the Tomolly experience! This little secret is as cherished as the rare finds that are savoured here. Sound, scent and vision complete the ambience while you complete your treasure hunt.

And of course lunch with Stacey at the Old Mill Café. Having trained under Adriano Zumbo her sweets are simply stunning.
