More Than Expected In Molong

If you haven’t visited Molong yet, you’re missing out. This picturesque little town situated in the Macquarie Ranges about 65km north of Canowindra is home to many 19th century buildings that express old world charm.

Molong has a thriving town centre with a rich farming district. Come discover the local history and culture that makes this region so enchanting.

The Wiradjuri word for Molong is “place of many rocks” and it is a place that will trans- port you back in time.

Be transported back in time as you step into Sweetness Your Lolly Shop. Remember the old fashioned lolly shops you visited as a kid, where your eyes where as big as the gobstoppers you bought and ate for a week.This is the type of memory Sweetness Your Lolly Shop creates. The 50’s, 60’s and 70’s inspired lolly shop stock a huge range of sweets from around the world including the USA, UK and New Zealand. Sweetness Your Lolly Shop also serves 30 flavours of gelato, which can be enjoyed in their retro ice cream parlour. Sweetness Your Lolly Shop is located at 12 Bank Street, come and indulge your sweet tooth.

Need something a bit heartier for lunch? It is hard not to go past the Molong Bakery. When you can smell the sweet scent of pastry from down the street you know it’s going to be a good bakery. You can find the Molong Bakery at 54-56 Bank Street for all of your pies, cakes, scones, milkshakes, thickshakes and Bills Beans Coffee. You will be happy to know they are open 7 days a week to ensure you don’t miss them when you visit Molong next. From Monday to Fri- day opening hours are 4.30am to 2.30pm. Open Saturday from 6am to 2.30pm and then Sunday 6.30am to 2pm.

Molong has more options available for lunch to suit all travellers needs. Take a seat and rest in the comfort of Be Tempted. As the name suggests it is hard not to be tempted into this Café and Gift Shop all in one! The Café is open 7 days a week with takeaway and eat in options. Open from 9am-7pm then 9-5pm on Sunday. Be Tempted offer a range of homemade cakes and slices as well as sandwiches, pies, quiche, fish and chips and hamburgers. While you wait for your meal to be served drift through the gift shop and be tempted by their large range of shoes, jewellery, handbags, giftware, scarves and candles. If shopping is your thing then you simply can’t go past 2 Fat Ladies. 2 Fat Ladies have expanded with a shop now in Molong! The iconic store is located in Bank Street and has a blend of gorgeous fashion, ac- cessories and gifts. A splash of colour as soon as you step inside, 2 Fat Ladies will be sure to delight you. Offering a com- prehensive range of practical and stylish fashion with sizes ranging from petite to size 24, with labels from Vigorella, Jendi, Threadz, Clarity, RTM, Ameise to name a few. There is also an array of hats, scarves, gloves, handbags, jewellery and giftware. You will be sure to leave feeling happy, confident and a little more fabulous. Molong has a big day ahead for you so take the time to unwind at the Freemasons Hotel. The perfect place to stop for a cold beverage, put up your feet, relax and have a meal at the bistro open 7 days a week for dinner and lunch. A fabulous 88 seat court- yard is out the back with its own bar and band deck. They also have a 40 seat a-la- carte Accolades Restaurant open Wednes- day to Saturday 6pm-9pm. Freemasons comes alive on the weekend so be sure to pop over and enjoy dinner and drinks. Events are held throughout the year so keep up to date on their Facebook page.
