Junior Cricket

12 December, 2018 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Last week saw the two Junior Cricket sides face each other in a local derby, the game was played in a great spirit and a fair bit of banter amongst friends.
The Tyre Service Encouragement Award went to Fraser Wythes for a massive improvement in his bowling and taking his first wicket of the season, that created a smile larger than Luna Park.

Backing up this bowling effort was the player of the week Campbell Arnott, who bowled some fantastic leg breaks, snared 2 wickets and was also excellent in the field. Player of the week for the Services Club was Darius Carpenter. Darius displayed 3 overs of great bowling, at the start of the season he was told he could only bowl 3 overs when he was good enough to do so, with his own determination he has been doing extra training and it has certainly paid off.

A special mention for an all-round performance went to Kynan Fliedner, a caught behind, stumping, a run out, a wicket and 7 runs with the bat.
