Canowindra Services Club travelled to Grenfell this week to play the Grenfell Eels at Lawson Oval. We batted first and tallied 116 runs off the 20 overs with only the loss of 2 wickets. There was a massive improvement in the running between wickets and our fielding, which showed at the end of the match as
the team restricted Grenfell to 8 for 67, taking home a well-earned win.
Nellie Grant was awarded the Player of the Week. Nellie bowled 3 very good overs and her fielding was excellent. Nellie also opened the batting for the first time, while she was a little nervous, Nellie scored 8 runs retired not out, returned to get a few more and supported Toby Fisher at the end with great running between the wickets turning a lot of singles into twos. The Tyre Service team had the bye this week.
There will now be a break for summer and return to the field on 3rd February 2019.
