The Sakura Matsuri Festival is a major event on Cowra’s tourism calendar and will be held in September 2018, celebrating the birth of spring. It attracts performers from across Australia and around the world. Locals, Australian and International visitors alike have the opportunity to experience traditional elements of Japanese culture.
The Sakura Matsuri Family Fun Day at the Cowra Japanese Garden will be held from 10am-4pm on Saturday 22nd September, 2018, with a range of activities including traditional tea ceremonies, Ikebana displays and market stalls including traditional hand-made Japanese jewellery, Japanese food, a barbecue and ice creams. There is also a jumping castle, fairy floss for the kids and so much more!
There will be martial arts demonstration throughout the day and the Cultural Stage will showcase performances by Taiko Drummers, Japanese Dancers, Sakura Choir and the Torsion Youth Choreographic Ensemble.
Tickets for the festival are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $15 children or a family pass is $60 and are available on the day at the Cowra Japanese Garden.
