“You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child” ~ Dr. Seuss
The 5th annual Canowindra Community Reading Day will be held on Friday 23rd May 2014, starting a t 10am at the RSL Hall and finishing at 1pm with a sausage sizzle in the Memorial Park.
Activities planned for the day include Aboriginal storytelling by Larry Brandy, performances by Wagambirra Dance Group from Cowra High School, art activities, story reading, face painting and hand spray painting, music activities with drums and a performance by Canowindra High School students! Once again every child will receive a book and a ‘show bag’ containing information about early literacy and local services.
The Canowindra Community Reading Day will be full of fun and ideas for parents, grandparents and the community to help children on the road to lifelong literacy. Everyone is welcome to come along and join us at the RSL Hall and Memorial Park for some fun and learning.
Some come and join us for a great day!
