From the turkey to the sprouts, the mince pies to the party puddings, what better way to enjoy Christmas in July than by eating traditional, delicious food? Unfortunately thanks to our location on the world map, Christmas falls on one of the hottest months of the year, making a cold buffet more appealing than a hot, sit down dinner.
So clever Canowindrian’s decided to have another Christmas in the much cooler month of July and enjoy all the trimmings that come with a nice, hot Christmas dinner. Staff at The Old Vic Inn are busy preparing to set out a festive feast for locals to enjoy. On Saturday 9th July and Saturday 30th July, you can enjoy a three course dinner for $45 per person in the beautifully decorated Old Vic dining room.
To begin an entrée tasting plate or pork terrine, pate, stuffed mushrooms, local cheeses and homemade relish served with fresh sour dough bread. The main banquet dinner will be a roast turkey, maple glazed ham, buttered peas, honey and sesame carrots, roast potato and root vegetables, chestnut dressing and rich gravy before a dessert choice or Christmas pudding with brandy custard or individual pavlovas with homemade preserved cherries.
Our mouths are watering already. Bookings are essential and group bookings of over ten people will be taken for any other day in July so give the Old Vic Inn a call on 6344 1009.
Montrose House will also be rolling out the Christmas cuisine this July with two courses of sensational festive fare for $35 on 23rd July for Tommy’s special Yuletide Dinner. From 6.30pm, enjoy laughs, great company and beautiful, cosy surrounds as Tommy puts you at ease and ensures you have a wonderful night with wonderful food. To book, please call the Deli Lama on 6344 1006.
So eat, drink and be merry!
