Introduction To Reels And Smartphone Photography In Grenfell

19 August, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Put together reels and carousels that actually connect with people, and get comfortable filming yourself without the awkwardness.

If you run a small business, a market stall, a farm gate stand or a side hustle, you know how much headspace social media can take up. This free workshop on Thursday 27 August, 6 – 8pm at 88 Main Street, Grenfell is about handing some of that time and stress back to you.

Presented by Regional Development Australia Central West in conjunction with Weddin Shire Council, this two-hour workshop is a step-by-step introduction to reels and smartphone photography, designed for beginners through to those already shooting and sharing but wanting to polish their skills and build confidence.

Guided by Sophie Hansen, a food writer and content creator based on a farm near Orange, you will learn how to take better photos and videos, turn them into carousels and Reels that connect, and film yourself without the awkwardness.

You will leave with a simple framework for planning, shooting, editing, and sharing your posts so you can keep practising and develop your own style.

If you are flat-out running a business or juggling a job and do not have hours to spend on a single post, this workshop is for you. In two hours, you will come away with the basics and the confidence to keep going and build your community on socials.

You don’t need fancy equipment, just bring your phone and an idea for a post you’d like to create. Make sure you have Instagram and the Edits app downloaded, and are logged into your business account on both.

This is a free event but registration is essential at https://events.humanitix.com/introduction-to-reels-and-smartphone-photography-in-grenfell
