Introducing The Canowindra Showgirls Of 2018!

The Canowindra Show is fast approaching, and this year there are 5 entrants vying for the Canowindra Showgirl title. In the Senior category Amelia Abbot isrunning. Amelia grew up in Canowindra and now works as a manager at Cotton On. She enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, farming and horse riding as well as hockey.

Amelia is involved in the local rugby club and has ambitions to travel the world. Amelia decided to enter Canowindra Showgirl to meet new people and to promote Canowindra in the region.

The Junior category has 4 excited entrants this year. Maisie Harrison is currently in Year 9 at Canowindra High School. She enjoys cooking and entertaining, playing the piano and listening to music. Maisie loves snow skiing, athletics and soccer. Maisie has a wide range of community involvement
experiences such as assisting with fundraising and school events. She is aiming to continue onto university after High School, as well as travel the world. Maisie is entering Canowindra Showgirl as she is passionate about her community.

Chloe Bellach is currently in Year 9 at Canowindra High School. She enjoys horse riding, dancing, guitar, drawing and football. Chloe’s community involvement has included working in the Community Garden as a Duke of Edinburgh participant and volunteering for Pony Club. Chloe has a passion to compete successfully in barrel racing and plans to study Veterinary Science after gaining her HSC. Chloe decided to enter Canowindra Showgirl to gain valuable skills in public relations, to boost her confidence and to have fun!

Sarah Treavors is currently in Year 11 at Canowindra High School. She enjoys reading, sewing, netball and travel. Sarah’s community involvement has included working in the Community Garden as a Duke of Edinburgh participant and volunteering for Canowindra Balloon Festival. Sarah plans to study to become a Registered Nurse after gaining her HSC. Sarah decided to enter Canowindra Showgirl to gain experiences that she might not get often and to have fun!

Claire Wright is currently in Year 9 at Canowindra High School. She has a passion for agriculture and in particular, agronomy. Claire enjoys hockey, soccer, swimming and dance. Claire’s community involvement has included volunteering as a Duke of Edinburgh participant at the Community Garden as well as other community events such as the Canowindra Balloon Festival. After gaining her HSC, Claire would like to be a Jillaroo in Northern Australia before attending university. Claire decided to enter Canowindra Showgirl to learn new things, meet new people and get involved in the community.

The Canowindra Showgirl Afternoon Tea will be held on Sunday 16th September from 2.30-5pm at “Gayton” Rivers Road Canowindra. The afternoon will include the official onstage interviews of the 2018 showgirl entrants and will also feature guest speaker Geena Purcell who is a 2018 Sydney State Finalist and Group 11 Showgirl Delegate. The afternoon tea is open to all showgirl entrants their friends and families. Please RSVP by 10th September to Carolyn on
