Huh…Huh…HAYFEVER!

1 October, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

How-to-Prevent-Hay-Fever
This time of year is beautiful, but for hay fever sufferers the flowery meadows are a nightmare of red eyes and runny noses. Sensible advice is to minimise your contact with allergens… but this isn’t so easy if you live smack bang in the middle of canola fields! If you dislike dosing up on drowsy drugs to beat the sniffles, natural remedies could be the best thing for you. Some options that could help are as follows…
Vitamin C is a known natural antihistamine and can be found in oranges, lemons and other citrus fruits. Red capsicum and chilli peppers contain capsaicin, which is a component that, when eaten, opens nasal passages and helps reduce congestion. Garlic is nature’s wonder drug, it boosts immunity, is an anti-inflammatory and surprise, surprise, can alleviate minor hay fever symptoms. Another natural road to go down is acupuncture, which is available from Aligned Health & Wellbeing. This ancient Chinese medicine can dramatically reduce symptoms such as itchy eyes. Using sterile needles, acupuncture can pinpoint specific areas of our bodies. Take action this Spring and stop suffering those sneezes!
