Despite a very disrupted two years for their senior school studies the HSC class of 2021 from Canowindra High School can be proud of their achievements.
The delayed HSC examinations did not deter their commitment to achieving their best and the final results reflect their ongoing positive attitude.
The class of twenty students completed examinations across eighteen subject areas and, for almost half of these, performed near or above the state average. Canowindra High School’s strongest performance was in Agriculture where three of the four students achieved a band 5.
“Overall, fifteen Band 5’s were achieved with 85% of students achieving a Band 4 or above in one or more subjects,” said Mrs Neryle Smurthwaite, Principal at Canowindra High School.
Clare Hines, who was recognised at the 2021 Annual Presentation ceremony as the 2021 Dux of the School, also achieved the highest results in the HSC examinations.
Other students who performed well include Jack de Freitas, Maisie Harrison, Darcy Merchant, Kathleen Pace, Caitlyn Roy, Claire Wright and Andy Zhao.
“Overall, individually and as a group, the class of 2021 has achieved some very sound results allowing them to be successful in gaining university entry into their chosen courses or already find employment,” Mrs Smurthwaite said.
“As a school we are proud of their achievement and wish them every success for the future,” said Mrs Neryle Smurthwaite.
