Hot time improvements

23 January, 2014 By editor

Over 60 swimmers braved the heat on Friday night to record some dazzlingly hot time improvements.
Olivia McNamara broke her time by 5 seconds in the 25m freestyle Spoon event.

However it was Toby Fisher who took out the Spoon as he sliced 2 seconds from his time in his Spoon semi before he repeated the feat in the Final to hold off Finbar Smyth in second and Stewart Russell, third.

Ryan Ellis knocked 8 seconds from his PB in the 50m freestyle, 7 seconds off his 50m breaststroke and he decimated his 50m backstroke time by 17 seconds. It wasn’t only the weather that was sizzling hot, well done Ryan.

The relay saw 48 swimmers line up on the blocks for a fast finish to the night.
Under the handicap system Lane 1 were on their second lap before lane 5 entered the water.

The lead see-sawed but it was Lane 6 that won by a second from a fast finishing lane 5.
Ryan Ellis, Dominic Smyth, Taylah Cahill, Mila Gower, Ella Breen, Max Wensley, Regan Hughes and Mitchell Stanley took home the relay pennants. All swimmers could you remember to sign the book at the kiosk counter before Wednesday to make sure you are properly entered for your swims on the Friday night.
