On Easter Sunday morning Ed Saunders a pilot from Australia won the Supagas Canowindra International Balloon Challenge Key Grab and $1,000 cash. Ed, a Balloon pilot from the Yarra Valley in Victoria was very excited with the win and said “This is a great start to the competition for me”.
The Competition Director introduced a new variation to the traditional Key Grab for 2019 with the event now being renamed the Hoopla Hoopla! In this spectacle for the crowd the Balloon pilots launched from their own site before heading to the Sports Oval to drop the Hoop over the pole.
At the time of going to print French Balloonist, Clement Seigot was in the lead for this year’s competition, with daily tasks to continue throughout the week each morning and afternoon.
