A large pool of swimmers turned up for Swimming Club on Friday night considering it is the holidays and times tumbled across the strokes. Liam Lazarou and Lucas Ellis swam themselves out of the Spoon semis as they took 5 and 4 seconds off their times respectively. The Spoon final came down to a race between two as Claire Wright touched just ahead of a fast-finishing Angus Fisher. Claire took home the first of the new spoons for her 22 second effort. The relay at the end of the night involved 6 lanes of seven swimmers and it was lane 5 that emerged triumphant by five seconds. Lane five winners were Regan Hughes, Wade Kinsela, Angus Fisher, Claire Wright, Anja Gower, Olivia McNamara and Toby Fisher. From this Friday there will be a basket at the pool for donations to the raffle for our Carnival which will be held on Sunday 2nd February. Donations of ‘summery’ non- perishable items are needed so Swimming Club can start to build up their funds again after the purchase, with Cabonne Council, of the new electronic timing equipment. Remember to sign the book before Wednesday afternoon and be ready for roll call this Friday at 5:45pm.
