Historical Society Fashion Parade Fundraiser A Great Success

20 September, 2017 By editor

Canowindra Historical Society held their annual fashion parade last Saturday 16th September at the Canowindra Bowling Club. The day was a great success with the 90 people in attendance treated to a lovely afternoon tea and a parade of spring and summer fashions from 2 Fat Ladies of Lucknow and Molong. There were also several lucky door prizes on offer along with some great raffle prizes.

Helen Livingston, the proprietor of 2 Fat Ladies supplied the great range of new season fashion for the parade. There were a great variety of styles and options and many easy care and easy to wear materials especially suitable for travel. The models, Janice, Robyn, Fiona, Kirsten and Amanda paraded the clothes very well to an interested audience. There was also the opportunity for the attendees to try on the outfits and make purchases on the day if there was a piece that took their fancy.

The fashion parade is the major fundraiser for the Canowindra Historical Society each year and the money raised from the day will be used for the conservation and storage of textile items held in the Museum such as wedding gowns and garments.

The final financial result is yet to be totalled, however the Historical Society are very pleased with the event and the community support. Canowindra Historical Society and Museum would like to thank all who supported the event and assisted in any way to
make it such a successful, enjoyable afternoon.

Thank you to Helen of 2 Fat Ladies for running the parade and her great commentary and also to the models who got into the spirit of the day.
