The Cabonne Home And Community Care (HACC) is encouraging local seniors to stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic by getting help from a Leep Tech Mate on Tuesday 20th October, 2020.
The current crisis has shown us all how important it is to get our heads around new technology, not only for remaining social while keeping our distance, but to access services such as telehealth during travel restrictions.
But for some, and particularly older people, mastering new technology can be confronting. That’s where the Leep Tech Mate Program can help. This free one on one service sees volunteers patiently teach people everything from sending a text message to learning how to shop online.
Cabonne Shire Council is working in partnership with Leep for Get Online Week, which runs from 19th-23rd October 2020.
You can book to meet with a dedicated Tech Mate at the Canowindra Trading Post to discuss your goals for getting online or join an online workshop called “Now’s the Time to Party Online”.
“Local seniors can book a time to sit one on one with the volunteer and discuss any barriers to being online,” said Kathryn Spice, Leep Project Officer.
Bookings are essential and can be made by calling 1300 163 106 or email hello@leep.ngo
