Monday saw flashes of orange around Canowindra to celebrate cultural diversity throughout Australia in the workplace, home and school. Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for all and for all to share what they have in common. The central message for Harmony Day is that ‘everyone belongs’, reinforcing the importance of inclusiveness to all Australians.
To celebrate this day, Canowindra High School students and staff donned orange from the waist up on Monday and travelled to Canowindra Sports Oval to spell out the word harmony. Students from year 7 to year 12, in their year groups, formed the letters H through to N with teachers forming the letter Y. The photo was kindly taken by Chris Kinsela with his drone.
