After 27 years of laughs and jokes Gwen Campbell has decided to retire from Lawrence’s IGA. Gwen worked her last day for IGA last
Friday the 24th March as bubbly as usual. Gwen always greeted everyone with a kind smile and was always willing to help anyone. Gwen says, “I will miss all of my favourite customers, meeting all of the great people and getting to help everyone”.
Being a favourite among customers Gwen will be missed and so will her jokes. After chatting to the team at IGA it was clear there were many stories to tell. Here are a few messages from the staff: “Thanks for the many years of service Gwen, the Main Street will be a lot quieter without you.”
“We will miss you, keep an eye out for those elephant stands!” “Be sure to enjoy as much smooth peanut butter and canapes as possible in your retirement.” “If anyone wants to have a yarn you will now have to visit Gwen at her house.”
Gwen is a familiar face to many but has decided the time was right. “I will be spending some more time with my grand daughter and family while I am fit and healthy,” Gwen said. A message from the team at IGA, “Good luck and best wishes for this next chapter of your life. You have been a joy to work with and laugh with.”
