GUTSY EFFORT FROM PYTHONS

13 July, 2016 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Canowindra travelled down to Temora on Saturday with ten on the bus and an unknown
amount of drivers. In the end fifteen players were there to start the game. The Pythons started with a vigour not seen this season so far, throwing the ball around a lot, going back to the game plan that got them to the final last year. Canowindra were the first to score with Jayden Brown who also converted the try. Canowindra lead 7-0 but Temora soon hit back after Python mistakes with the score now 7-5. Cano scored again but on the stroke of half time Temora got another try making it equal 12 all at half time.

In the second half Temora scored quickly and the Pythons hit back with one more try from Todd Wyburn. With the boys tiring, Temora ran away with the game 34-17. A great game had by everyone especially Dean Schaefer, Jack Knight, Jacob Baker and Craig Mckenzie. In the backs Clint Oborn and Sanchez made a celebrity appearance.

Three points went to Dean Schaefer, two points went to Jack Knight, and one point went to Jayden Brown and Luke Watt. Players’ player went to Dean Schaefer This Saturday is Canowindra Pythons Ladies, Sponsors and Members Day. Kicking off from 2pm, there will be lots of delicious food, floral decorations, music, prizes to win and more. Come and cheer on the boys while they play Condo from 3.15pm and enjoy a great day out with great people.
