Canowindra Public School held their annual fete on Friday, their major fundraiser for the year. The fete was a great success, with early estimates of fundraising around the $5,000 mark.
The money raised by the fete goes to the School P&C, who were responsible for
organising food and the jumping castle, among other things. Each class at the school was responsible for organising a fete stall. Planning for some of the students started at the beginning of the year.
“We’ve been growing plants and breeding chickens to sell,” said Canowindra Public School Principal Sharon Hawker. “It was very successful.” There were plenty of stalls offering a wide range of goods and entertainment, with plant stalls, cake stalls, a photo booth, ice blocks, ten pin bowling with real
bowling balls and pins, jams, condiments, eggs, a treasure hunt, face painting, biscuits and homemade cordial.
Moyne kindly donated their fairy floss machine for the day, and two generous
people donated their time to run it. “We always get good support. Thanks
to all parents, the community and the kids for supporting it. A special thanks to McClintocks for the helium; we made $800 on the balloon stall so that was really generous.”
