In April last year the Canowindra Pre-School were thrilled to receive a grant for $246,090 for an extension to the service. The Capital Grants program is an $8 million funding initiative from the NSW government. Grants fund the construction of new preschools or the expansion of existing ones.
Stage one of the renovation was completed in July last year with the “Gumnut” room transformed into a light filled haven with so much more space for the lucky children who attend the Pre-School. The administration and parents room were converted into a large storage room, a disabled toilet and a staff room for the teachers, and a lovely wide hallway now joins the “Gumnut” and “Gumtree” rooms.
Stage two of the renovations is now underway with a new multipurpose building being built to accommodate the administration staff and there will also be a large meeting room for the whole community to utilise.
Nadine Daly, President of the Pre-School said that “The Canowindra community is just so lucky that the Pre-School was granted this money and is excited to see the completion of stage two of the build by the end of the year.”
The Pre-School are now taking enrolments for 2019 for Pre-School aged children 3-5 years old and also for Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) for both Pre-School and School aged children which runs from 3-6pm. If you have any questions or to enrol please call Adelaide in the office on 6344 1261.
