Have you ever wanted to know how to graft and transplant certain fruits and vegetables? Then come along to the Grafting Workshop on Thursday 20th July, at Graeme Eastwood’s Orchard, Nashdale. Neil Barraclough is an Australian horticulturist who will be demonstrating how to graft and discussing the heritage and rare fruit scions. Neil has been promoting and saving heritage and rare fruit for 29 years, with this year being his second year visiting Nashdale.
Cost for the event is $30, which includes a tree graft of your choice to take home, tea and coffee as well as biscuits and cake. Eftpos is not available so please bring cash along. Additional trees can be purchased for $10 each and scions for only $2 each. Existing trees at home could be grafted with many different varieties extending the picking season over 7 or 8 months. “It’s a fantastic way to increase your fruiting trees with fruit you could never buy in a shop,” said Kathy Wicks
