The Canowindra High School graduating class of 2020.
Friday 13th was no bad omen for HSC students from Canowindra High School as they celebrated their graduation in style at the Canowindra Services Club despite COVID. As the Education Department were not permitted to organise graduations this year, parents stepped up and put the event on with very little notice. 100 students and their parents attended and enjoyed a three course meal with Kylie Lawrence making the graduation cake. Staff, being restricted from attending, made a video filled with messages to the graduating students which brought some laughs. The school captains, Julia Wright and Santiago Tapin, made a speech on behalf of their cohort and all enjoyed dancing the night away.
Thanks to: Kristie Spinghall for the photography, P&C Committee for support of the event and financial contribution towards the night, parents who organised, Kylie Lawrence for the graduation cake, ex-student Sam Townsend (who was an entertaining Year 12 student when the current graduates were in Year 7) for being the MC, Canowindra Services Club for being accommodating with everything despite late notice, and parents for their support.
