Muzzy’s Quality Meats has undergone a cosmopolitan refresh. Stepping into the shop, it would be easy to think you were in an exclusive butcher in Sydney. With some paint to add some “va-va-voom” as butcher’s assistant Alina Hutton put it, the store has also branched out in what they are stocking.
“We have just started sourcing more local products. Things that you cannot find elsewhere in Canowindra. We try to choose things that pair well with meat,” Alina said.
From supermarket basics like tomato and barbeque sauce along with standard marinades. Muzzy’s also stock a range of Canowindra’s own Rosnay Organic products which complement meat, notably their fig line which Alina says pairs beautifully with lamb to their wild lime and butter products which work well with chicken along with their gourmet relishes.
Muzzy’s prides itself on its quality local meat. “We get the freshest meat possible,” Alina said, explaining that any meat that cannot be butchered in store goes through an abattoir down in Cowra.
It’s not just meat though, Muzzy’s now stocks fresh seafood from Sydney once a month. Customers can order ahead though staff make sure to get a few kilograms extra for those who miss out on ordering.
It pays to pop in store regularly to keep up with the changing stock, from flavoured sausages to prepared chicken dinners, Muzzy’s always has something interesting on offer. You can even keep up to date from home by following their Facebook page Muzzy’s Quality Meats.
You can still get your orders in for Christmas meat from turkey to ham and even seafood. Order your seafood by the 22nd for fresh delivery on the 24th. Gourmet Christmas hampers are also available.
