Goonigal Poll Dorset’s in town sale was a success! The sale was held on Tuesday the 30th August and was very well attended. This was the first ever town sale for owner and operators Charles and Robbie Lawrence, as up until now they have always sold livestock on the farm. “Having the sale in town allowed people to feel more comfortable which led to some new clients,” says Charles Lawrence.
The top price for the day was $1,900 with the Lawrence Family being very pleased with how the sale went, as they sold what they would have liked. Volume Buyers from the sale were: Webster Pastoral Company, Glen Leigh, McLachlan Group, Gary and Wayne Amos, Lawrence and UEL Balcomb, Mark Grant, the Mitchell family and Milroy Farming.
Next year the sale will be on at the same place and same time located at the Canowindra Showground. The Lawrence Family would like to make a special mention to Cowra livestock selling agent Allan Gray and Co who conducted the auction and to everyone who came out for the sale. They would also like to thank the Lions Club for hosting a BBQ on the day.
The Lawrence Family has been running the business for 10 years now with the previous owners having it for 40 years. The Goonigal Poll Dorset ram bloodline is Hillden, Armdale Park and Armdale. The Lawrence Family takes great pride in their rams. “We’re very pleased with the sale. It was great to see new clients and we wish them all the best with their new purchases,” says Charles.
