KEARNS/KELLY MEMORIAL GOLF DAY
The Kearns Memorial Golf Day has been run by the Kearns Family for over 30 years, remembering those members of the family who have passed.
Terry Windsor and Ivy Kearns were well known residents of Canowindra where they spent all their married life and raised their children; Tony, Daryl, Cheryl (Loomes) and Shayne. When Terry passed, the family commemorated
his life with a Memorial Golf Day at the Canowindra Golf Club. The family has since experienced the passing of several family members; Ivy, Tony, Daryl, Clarrie and Shayne and Mardie’s son Ben who was on the heart transplant list when he suffered a stroke that caused irreparable brain damage.
Ben expressed his consent to have his organs and tissues donated, giving the gift of a better life to the recipients of his organs. This year also marked the passing of a close friend of the Kearns Family, Peter “JJ” Kelly. JJ leaves his loving wife and boys Wayne, Paul, Matthew and Mark. The Kearns Family Memorial Day will now be known as the Kearns/Kelly Memorial Day to honour the close relationship between the families.
A Memorial Trophy has been created by the families to commemorate the lives of Ben and JJ. Everyone is invited to participate on the day with prizes for golfers, non-golfers, men, ladies and juniors. A BBQ lunch will be prepared
with refreshments around the course. Bring your family and enjoy the day!
