Jenny Weaver is running for election to Cabonne Council on 14th September, 2024.
Jenny served as a Councillor on Cabonne Council for 13 years from 1995-2008, serving on numerous Council Committees, and more recently was re-elected to Cabonne Council from 2017-2024, in which many advancements have been made through obtaining Grants and Council’s input to further achieve the visions and desires of Cabonne’s many communities., inclusive of Town and Village Masterplans, improvements to sporting facilities and support of Showgrounds and importantly future developments in our residents Health Facilities.
Jenny has been a member of the Canowindra Age of Fishes Museum since its inception, a Member and Secretary of the Canowindra Hospital Hospital Auxiliary for the past 18 years, a member and past Publicity Officer for Canowindra RSL Sub-Branch, and the last few years organising Australia Day in Canowindra. Jenny supports the sustainability Cabonne Council through Tourism, Promotion and Development and Council working to attract industry to our areas. This would be achieved by always remaining focused on the long term benefits to the rate paying residents in all the Towns and Villages of Cabonne.
Jenny also understands that with over 2,000km of roads in Cabonne they remain a large focus and one of the community’s priorities, but what we witnessed in the 2022 floods and the effect on five of our communities and our road network was devastating and will take time to recover and for infrastructure to be rebuilt, fortunately Cabonne has great staff that were on the ground from the start of the disaster and who have worked tirelessly with the recovery plan, and know these affected communities were grateful for their efforts, but this will be an ongoing process.
Jenny vigorously supports Community involvement with Council through Progress Associations and/or the re-establishment of these Associations in towns and villages across Cabonne. Jenny has a great belief and commitment to Cabonne holistically and certainly a love for Canowindra and district, and believes that she would be able to support and contribute to the continued future development of Cabonne.
