This is your chance to be part of Australia’s biggest citizen science event, and it’s perfect for everyone, from experienced birdwatchers to total beginners.
All you need to do is:
1. Register as a counter at aussiebirdcount.org.au
2. Download the Aussie Bird Count app for
3. Apple or Google Play
4. Pick a spot: your backyard, local park, or favourite outdoor space
5. Enter your location in the app and start counting the birds you see in just 20 minutes. If you’re unsure about the species, the in-app bird finder is there to help
6. Submit your count using the app or web form
