Get ready for a big splash this summer

12 December, 2013 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Summer has arrived, and the renovations are almost complete! People of Canowindra, get your togs ready as the pool is set to open on the 14th of December!

The Pool Open Day will provide free entry for everyone and the pool season will be extended 2 weeks, given that the renovations took longer than planned.

There have been various changes to the pool, with the children’s area being upgraded, new club house, seating and the new pump room which is Jarrod’s favourite renovation. Taking approximately 8 months, the renovation has turned the pool into a kid’s paradise, with plenty of new water devices to play with and a program pool that is designed for swimming lessons.

“Everything is new, the water is crystal clear and the pump room looks like something out of NASA, I’m really happy with everything”. Pool Manager, Jarrod Strange said.

The ‘Big’ pool is completely new as well and is also heated, but will not be open in winter. The kid’s pool will also feature a retractable shelter for those off windy days and extra hot summer days. There are more railing and ramps for the elderly, disabled and young children learning to swim.

The new prices are $3.50 for daily entry, $2.50 for school children, single season tickets $100, $2 for non-swimmers or $205 per family for the season. The opening time will be from 10am-6pm every day, and holiday times are to be advised.

The Cabonne Council have invested $2 million dollars into the upgrade of the pool and Cabonne Mayor Ian Gosper was delighted with the revamp undertaken by Gold Coast-based firm Beau Corp Aquatics.

“They’ve done a great job and we’ve now got a swimming complex that Canowindra can be very proud of”, Cr Gosper said.
