At the last Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary meeting, Anne Ward representing Canowindra Garden Club, presented Annette Lynch from the auxiliary and Matt McGrath, Health Service Manager with $565. This amount was the proceeds from the very successful open garden day at the historic Noojee Lea homestead and gardens during the balloon week festival. The Curran family were delighted to support the Garden Club and always stipulate that any monies raised at Noojee Lea should go to the Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary.
This open garden day was one of three well supported events that the Garden Club organised during balloon week at the request of the committee and was part of providing entertainment for the many visitors to the town.
The Garden Club would like to thank all the generous garden owners who so willingly agreed to open their beautiful gardens, the garden club members who helped in any way and all the visitors. All monies raised will be put back into projects in the town as the need arises, and the Garden Club will be working closely with Council to help with town improvements.
