Head out to Noojee Lea Homestead this Saturday, 12 October from 11am – 4pm for the annual Canowindra Garden Club open day. The open day is a fundraiser for the Canowindra Hospital.

The Canowindra Garden Club together with with Charles and Eva Curran of Noojee Lea are excited to again be showcasing the works of one of Australia’s leading landscape designers, Paul Bangay. Paul Bangay designed the walled garden and western courtyard at Noojee Lea.

Paul has created beautiful gardens in Australia and overseas for the past 25 years. He has written eight books on garden design and there will be two signed copies of his latest book for raffle on the day.

The event will also include presentations by local horticulturalists Luke Gordon from Eureka Plants and Chris Cuddy from Perennialle Plants commencing at 11.30am. Luke Gordon will be discussing roses and allied perennials, while Chris Cuddy will be on hand to present on frost and drought tolerant plants, garden tools, and accessories. Florist, Josephine Marais will be demonstrating her arrangements from 1pm – 2pm and renowned local artist Melissa Barber will be showcasing her art.

The Garden Club is holding the event to raise much needed money for the Canowindra Hospital. The funds raised will be spent on suitable furniture for the patient recreation area at the hospital.
