Montrose House owner Tommy Jeffs has been busy during lockdown.
Montrose House has always been a combination of style, glamour, old world charm and country hospitality.
Tommy Jeff’s main street treasure has had a facelift during COVID-19 lockdown, that’s set to see tourists flock to have a look. He said the outside has been painted all the way around in green, cain and white.
“I chose heritage colours as close as I could,” Tommy said. “It’s a beautiful outlook on the street.”
Inside, the house has been spring cleaned from top to bottom, with new linen and bedspreads in the bedrooms. He’s tidied up the front and back gardens.
“It’s given other people the idea to tidy up themselves,” he said.
Already Montrose House is solidly booked from mid-October, into November and December.
To celebrate Tommy’s 70th birthday, he’s having two parties: a dress up garden party on October 18 as a welcoming of Spring. Everyone attending will be double vaxxed.
His Cowra friends will celebrate the following week with a garden luncheon, again with all guests double vaxxed.
Tommy has also filled the flower baskets in Gaskill Street. He hopes his “lovely, fresh approach” will be a tourist beacon that the whole town can benefit from.
The charismatic and lavish interior from tip to toe truly shows off Montrose House has everything just right.
Good quality china, crystal and silverware in the two dining rooms and for the dining terrace has always been a part of the ‘Monstrose House’ experience.
There are also two classically decorated bedrooms for guests to stay. Who then enjoy a country style breakfast on the terrace in the morning.
Tommy predicts Canowindra will enjoy a flood of tourists once Sydney and Canberra residents are able to travel.
While he enjoyed triple the business from June to July, simply being able to open is a delight.
