Free Cricket Workshop For Women

7 February, 2024 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Claire Polosak will be presenting the workshop.

Centrals Cricket Club, Orange are running a free Community Officiating Workshop for women on Tuesday 5th March from 5.30pm – 8.30pm at Carl Sharpe Centre, Wade Park Orange.

Centrals Women’s Cricket Coordinator, Eleena Markcrow aid, “We are privileged to have Claire Polosak from Cricket NSW join us in Orange as the Cricket Australia approved Presenter/Facilitator for the community officiating workshop (upriring).”

Polosak, in 2017 became the first woman to umpire a men’s domestic fixture in Australia and in 2019 became the first woman to stand in a men’s ODI. In 2021 she similarly broke ground as the first woman to officiate a men’s Test match (Australia versus India) and anyone who has been watching the Australia/ South Africa women’s cricket matches on TV recently, would have seen Claire in action.

Cricket Australia’s Community Officiating Accreditation Program replaces the old Level One Umpire Accreditation course.

For further information contact: Centrals Women’s Cricket Coordinator, Eleena Markcrow via email eleenamarkcrow@gmail.com or phone 0423 749 886.
