Known for some of the best fishing locations in New South Wales, Reflections Holidays has launched a new virtual “catch and release” fishing competition, Fish Reflections, to encourage its guests and visitors to get together, have fun and fish sustainably at their favourite waterways from coast to country.
The biggest holiday park group in New South Wales, Reflections has parks in popular fishing destinations including local Wyangala Waters State Park. Reflections has this year invested $1.1M to assist the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) to bring endangered native fish species back from the brink via repopulation programs.
With an $80,000 prize pool, Fish Reflections will be held on September 27-28 and allows anglers to fish anywhere in NSW.
Registrations are now open to juniors (Under 16) and adults and anglers of all experience levels are welcome.
Entrants have the chance to win their category or perhaps get closest to the “mystery length” and be in the running to win a share in a prize pool that includes a 420 Busta tinnie valued at $23,990 and a seven-night stay at a Reflections park.
Reflections CEO Nick Baker said Reflections, a Crown Land manager which reinvests profit back into the holiday parks it manages and community reserves it cares for, was thrilled to launch Fish Reflections considering its role as a caretaker, its passion for connecting people to nature, and its partnership with DPIRD.
“Many of our guests and day trippers to Reflections parks love to fish, and Fish Reflections allows anglers of all levels of experience to get waterside and have fun, all while making as little impact on the environment as possible,” Mr Baker said.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Reel Action to launch this event and get more people out into nature, fishing the right way.”
