First Grade Does Canowindra Proud

11 June, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Canowindra vs. Peak Hill, Sunday 8th June.

Canowindra Tigers dominated Peak Hill with a win of 50 – 26. They started strong and fast as Brydon Hughes was able to break through Peak Hill’s defence and scored the first try of the day within the first 10 minutes of the game. Fantastic effort by the First Grade captain David Bermingham (Moey) as he controlled the field and pushed the boys forward throughout the whole game, this is why he was awarded Players Player for the day. Also great work to the players who scored tries: Adam Micalef 2, Brydon Hughes 1, Curtis Hughes 1, Aaron Earsman 1, Nick Willson 1, Sam O’Malveney 1, Tom Roth 1, and Brendan Traves 1. This is what Canowindra can produce when their players are motivated and determined as we have seen them come back fighting before.
