Hi Editor,
Since the last update in the Phoenix we left Corrigin and drove 300 kls across to Norseman on a really great red dirt road as good as any expressway, shared with huge mine road trains. In contrast further on was Australia’s longest straight stretch of road, 146 kms between Balladonia and Culgara. On through the South Australian border staying couple days on the coast overlooking Great Australian Bight. We travelled on through the Nullabour Plains to Ceduna a nice town by the sea. Had a quick look through Iron Knob where they mine iron ore which goes down to Whyalla for mostly shipping overseas. Next came Cobar, Wilcannia, Nyngan, Narromine onto home. These last few towns were interesting to look around but all roads between towns were very rough not good when shared with road trains. In summing up it has been a whirlwind trip of a lifetime and we have earmarked some great places to visit for longer periods in the future. It has opened our eyes to how big this country is and to what we have on our doorstep. Debbie and I would like to thank the Phoenix staff for their interest and in keeping the readers abreast of our travels and to the readers themselves.
Kind regards Allan and Debbie Symons
