Flickerfest is back for 2024, in a new venue, the Rosnay Vineyards Cellar Door, kicking off their festival of short films under the stars, Sunday 21st April, 7pm.
This years smorgasbord of incredible short films are handpicked from a record 3,400 entries received for Flickerfest’s Oscar® and BAFTA Qualifying short film festival screened recently in Bondi, giving Canowindra audiences a window into the hottest contemporary shorts from at home and across the world today.
On Sunday 21st April, 7pm, clever comedy brings joy to the big screen with the Short Laughs Comedy programme of off-kilter Flickerfest shorts from at home and around the world. Highlights include, the delightfully quirky Irish short Cantata about a man whose life is upended when his only means to communicate is song; the delightful UK short Linda by comedian Joe Lycett, about a woman whose tall tales and colorful life seem too good to be true.
Also the fun regional comedy The Bank Manager, a delightfully entertaining short based on the true events of a 1932 bank heist in Cloncurry; and the highly humorous Good Luck with its introduction to life is mandatory viewing.
Doors open at 6pm for drinks and pre-ordered lamb curry dinners or BYO picnics. The two hour Short film programme starts at 7pm with an intermission at approximately 8pm.
$50 pre-ordered tickets include dinner made by Andrew Wooldridge from his own sheep which graze the Rosnay vineyards (GF, & vegan option).
