Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining For Canowindra Balloon Challenge!

Canowindra Challenge Incorporated is ‘floating on air’ this week after taking home Silver in the Festivals and Events category at the NSW State Tourism Awards last Thursday night!
“It is truly wonderful that our small country town can achieve this win in such illustrious company” said Jan Kerr, Event Marketer. Canowindra Challenge was narrowly beaten by a Sydney event, which still makes them the best event in Regional NSW.
The NSW Tourism Awards celebrate and acknowledge tourism businesses that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and success throughout the year. It is a fantastic achievement for Canowindra and CCI, whose event attracts over 12,000 people each year.
This year’s event injected over $1,900,000 into the Canowindra and surrounds economy with funds filtering through the entire community. Beneficiaries are the local schools, charities and sporting groups who play an integral role in delivering an event of this scale. “Such a significant benefit is a driving force in securing local and state based support for our unique event and a primary reason as to why we received this recognition. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our most significant sponsor, Cabonne Council,” Jan said.
Planning for the 2015 event is in full swing with invitations out and indications are there will be 10 International teams. “The plan is to make the 2015 event bigger and better than ever before. Our dream is to bid to host the 2018 World Women’s Championships” said Graham Kerr, acting Chairman
CCI are offering a number of sponsorship opportunities to companies wanting to increase their public exposure through association with a highly successful event that continues to grow each year. “This year we valued our total marketing exposure for the event at well over $300,000. This value does not include the 1.3 million hits to our website nor the value of word of mouth with many visitors already rebooking for next year”, said Jan.
Well done to everyone involved in staging this wonderful event. Congratulations!
