In collaboration with Orange360, Newmont Cadia (Cadia) continues to foster and support the sustainable growth of tourism events in the region and enhance community vitality through the provision of the Newmont Orange360 Regional Tourism Event Fund.
This event fund is dedicated to supporting local community groups, organisations, and businesses establish or grow festivals and events that stimulate the visitor economy, diversify offerings throughout the year, and position the Orange Region as a premier destination for travel, ‘leisure’ and living.
“With the support of this fund, we can encourage involvement and collaboration across the community and amplify the efforts of Orange360 to position the Orange Region as a leading destination, enticing visitors from near and far to explore all that we have to offer”, says Ned Sweetapple of Orange360.
Now in its second year, the Newmont Orange360 Regional Tourism Event Fund continues to be a catalyst for the growth of new and transformative events that captivate new external and local audiences and drive economic growth.
Some of the notable success stories include: Lonely Mountain Ultra, Goodness Gravel, cultural events such as the Orange Chamber Music Festival and Winter Jazz Festival. In addition to multiple events in our towns and villages such as the Newbridge Winter Solstice Festival, River Yarn Festival in Carcoar and the Winter Fire Festival in Millthorpe.
These success stories highlight the transformative power financial support for the establishment of events in the region. The Newmont Orange360 Regional Tourism Event Fund is open currently for applications for events that will run before the end of 2024.
There are three funding tiers for consideration for would-be applicants:
• Tier 1 – Incubator, seed funding of up to $20,000 to kickstart an event.
• Tier 2 – Event Enhancement: Up to $10,000, to grow content and appeal of existing events
• Tier 3 – Marketing Enhancement: Up to $3,000 for marketing support to elevate your event’s visibility and reach.
