Enjoy A Night Of Scandanavian Folk Songs At Rosnay This Friday

12 March, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Don’t miss the most beautiful music you have never heard by the Nomad String Quartet this Friday.

Lovers of fine music are in for a treat with the Nomad String Quartet performing “The Most Beautiful Music You Have Never Heard” at Rosnay Cellar Door this Friday, 13 March.

In 2014, the Danish String Quartet released Wood Works, a collection of their own arrangements of Scandinavian folksongs. These stunning pieces took the string playing world by storm, and their second volume Last Leaf was eagerly received in 2019.

The Nomads have hand picked their favourite numbers from both volumes, and the result is a Danish feast in five courses, ranging from poignant Faroese wedding songs to contemporary Swedish folk funk to blistering reels inspired by music of the British Renaissance – and everything in between!

The Nomads invite you to join them on an emotional journey through the landscape of the most beautiful music you’ve never heard! All members of Nomad are highly accomplished classical musicians who have performed with the major Australian orchestras; what brings them to Nomad is their love of folk, world music, jazz and other improvised traditions.

The concert will be held at Rosnay Cellar Door this Friday 13 March from 7pm to 9pm, with a short intermission. Concertgoers are invited to come before the event for a wine tasting and light refreshments. Tickets are just $35 and can be purchased online at rosnay.com.au/product/nomad/
