At this time of the year there are many end of year parties and there are some things to remember:
• Employees should treat the end of year party like any other day at work and behave accordingly.
• Being drunk is no excuse for an employee’s actions or comments
• Employees should pause before they post any content from the end-of-year function on social media, as nothing is private on the internet.
• For employers, remember that you have a number of obligations, including, responsible service of alcohol, providing food and non-alcoholic drinks and providing some options for employees to get home safely after the festivities.
