The new Emergency Department at the Canowindra Hospital will be opened today at 10am by Mr Rick Colless MLC, NSW Parliamentary Secretary for Natural Resources and Western NSW and will be followed by morning tea on the lawns.
The new Emergency Department has been relocated to the front of the Hospital and has an improved Ambulance entrance and upgraded entries for people with disabilities, making the facility more accessible for patients and visitors.
Security at the facility has also been upgraded with cameras installed and door access improved. Canowindra Health Service Manager Janice Rumph said she was pleased to see the redeveloped Emergency Department.
“This redevelopment ensures that we have the best facility possible to deliver excellent patient care to our community,” Janice said. “Improvements to the Ambulance entrance will ensure that patients can be transported from the Ambulance to the Hospital more
quickly.”
“This has been a big year for Canowindra Hospital and the results are more than worth it,” said Janice.
The Emergency Department was completed by Renascent, with the build taking approximately 20 weeks.
