Easter Trading Hours

9 April, 2014 By editor

easter trading hours

Most locals are excited and looking forward to a well- deserved break for Easter. For those that are unsure, trading hours are listed below for some of our local shops over Good Friday, Easter and Anzac Day.

  • The 18th of April is Good Friday
  • The 20th of April is Easter Sunday (Happy Easter)
  • The 21st April is Easter Monday
  • The 25th of April is Anzac Day

On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion. The four-day Easter weekend marks the end of the summer season for many Australians. Easter Sunday is a very important day for Christians, since the resurrection of Christ reflects a central idea in Christianity. Many Christians attend special church services even if they do not attend services regularly during the rest of the year. For non-religious people and followers of other faiths, the four-day Easter weekend is a welcome break and a chance to enjoy a range of sporting and cultural events, lots of chocolate and seafood!

Many people also travel to visit family and friends and the roads can become very busy and occupied with stressed drivers trying to get from A to B. Remember these holidays to slow down and be careful on the roads, double demerits apply and remember to stop every 2 hours for a stretch.

For those who are not travelling there are plenty of things to do, especially if you have children!

Paint eggs, make your own chocolate eggs, do an Easter Hunt, revisit old board games, invite the girls around or host a get together with all your friends and family.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter!

Following In His Father’s Footsteps

15 April, 2021 By editor

When Beau Wheeldon competed in the State Little Athletics, he was literally running in his father’s footsteps. He won the under 10s 100 metre sprint, some 35 years after his dad, Marc Wheeldon, earned the same place in the same race. “It is very special to share it,” said Marc. “It was really cool to […]
