Have you ever walked on a beach where the sand has been churned up by many footprints? There is much disturbance, dips and mounds, piles of seaweed and evidence that life has been lived on the beach. The next morning, the tide has washed in and the beach is smooth and peaceful.
This is the story of Easter. Jesus came to the world he loved, to the people he loved to wash us clean, to bring his forgiveness into our churned up lives. Life happens! We all have troubles and trials in our lives and Jesus came to bring us peace and a renewed connection with God.
When Jesus was raised from the dead he won the victory over sin and death. Death no longer has power, it is only a doorway to pass from this life into the presence of Jesus. Jesus’ resurrection, which we celebrate on Easter Day, shows us the power of God to give life and how much God longs for us to be a family.
When Jesus appeared to the women on Easter morning, he greeted them and sent them to tell his disciples that he would see them in Galilee. The God of the universe became a human like us, died a terrible death and was resurrected so that we could all be sons and daughters of the living God. He opens his arms wide and invites us all to come to him and live.
Happy Easter!
God Bless,
