Earlyrisers Get The Best Bread

9 March, 2016 By editor

It all started with a bag of flour in 1918, when the Stevenson’s started up a small bakery in Tooraweenah just outside of Gilgandra. 98 years later and the family, now the fourth generation of bakers, are still an iconic part of the industry in the Central West.

The Stevenson’s have seen their fair share of change throughout the century and have adapted to keep up with the times. Now, their popular establishment, Robert’s Bakery in Orange, has recently merged with the parent brand Earlyrise Baking Company, but don’t worry, you will still be able to buy the bread you know and love. Samantha Stevenson, part of the fourth generation, says; “We’re excited about the new brand and pleased that the quality and local sourcing of ingredients won’t change. Our bread is baked in the region at Dubbo, all our flour is locally sourced from Manildra, our oil from Cowra and we will still deliver six days a
week to towns such as Canowindra.

We are committed to servicing the community with their daily bread, we deliver daily to towns in the far reaches of the state such as Lightning Ridge, Brewarrina and Burke.” Sam is proud to be part of one of two large independent bakeries outside of Sydney, “not many regional communities have access to large independent bakers anymore.

Something we’re passionate about is that we’re local and we offer a service that bigger companies just don’t. Due to the bakery being so close to our customer base we can supply the Central West with fresh product every day whether they’re in Forbes or Lightning Ridge.”

Locally renowned brands Todays Bread and Village Pies will still have a spot on the shelves
along with delicious gourmet pastries and bread products. The Stevenson family are excited to be opening a new retail store in the next few months at 208, Peisley Street in Orange, just down the road from where they are now.

Why not pop into the bakery at 184 Peisley Street and grab a loaf or delicious pie today? If you’d like to find out more about the amalgamation of Robert’s Bakery and Earlyrise, or you just want to ask them why their bread tastes so good contact Samantha on 6884 6878 or send her an email to Samantha@earlyrisebaking.com.au
