The Canowindra medical field will see the end of an era this month with the long serving GP Dr A S Kumar finishing up his work at Canowindra Medical Centre. “After 43 years of serving Canowindra and surrounding districts as a General Practicioner, I have decided to take leave from full time medical practice,” a notice from Dr Kumar stated. “Dr Madduru and Dr Kaipu will take over ownership and running of the practice, along with the continued assistance of Dr Paul Cradock and Dr Dharshini Jeyelingam.” All other existing staff are also moving on.
Dr Kumar expects to finish his work at the Medical Centre by Friday 28 August and urges patients and individuals to contact his office before that date if they have any concerns or enquiries. No doubt Dr Kumar’s decision will have a widespread impact on the community and it will be quite sad to say goodbye to one of Canowindra’s favourite practitioners, though we hope to still see his face around town.
“I have enjoyed the privilege of being your general practitioner and best wishes for your good health and happiness,” Dr Kumar wrote.
