Principal Neryle Smurthwaite aims to ensure students of today are well equipped to be the adults of tomorrow. “We promote learning as a lifelong skill not just something we do at school, TAFE or university but rather something that we do on a daily basis wherever we are,” she said.
The Education Week focus of ‘Lifelong Learning’ is something encouraged in students, Principal Smurthwaite said. She believes the role of parents, teachers and community is to equip every child with a skillset for whatever life path they desire to travel.
“We pride ourselves on being a small school with big opportunities and, through access to a diverse curriculum, focus on enhancing basic skills, ensuring access to supportive wellbeing programs, encouraging creative diversity and offering sporting and extracurricular experiences that build confidence, promote teamwork and develop resilience,” she said.
