Decision Making That Shapes Resilient Farms

4 February, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Brian Wehlburg will be presenting practical principles for people, ecology and profitable farms.

Mid-Lachlan Landcare Growing the Grazing Revolution is hosting a day with Brian Wehlburg on the ‘Hickman’ family farm on Thursday, 12 February, 9am – 3pm.

The Hickmans run a 2,500ha self-replacing beef operation. They have been using Holistic Management principles for the past 29 years with a focus on people, landscape, livestock and profit.

Brian Wehlburg is originally from Zimbabwe and emigrated to Australia in 2001 where he worked as a pasture manager on cattle properties in Central QLD for seven years before relocating to the NSW to develop a multi-species paddock-to-plate business.

After attending a Holistic Management course in 1995, Brian started to manage his land holistically. He was blown away by the positive impact this had on his land and business. He qualified as a Holistic Management Educator in 2001 and has been training and supporting people to manage holistically ever since.

He brings his practical experience, knowledge and passion to his Holistic Management courses and Holistic Planned Grazing workshops. Over the years, many land managers have benefited from these events, leaving with the tools to build resilience into their land and businesses.

The day will also provide a great opportunity to share information around the current season. The cost is $30pp for this event, with morning tea and BBQ lunch provided.

Please bring along a chair, a mug and an interested friend. ‘Talinga’ is located at 1561 Pine Mount Rd, Woodstock.

Please register by Monday 10 February at: https://events.humanitix.com/decision-making-that-shapes-resilient-farms/tickets
