Tickets are on sale now for the Canowindra Catholic Ball which will be held on Friday 9th September at 7.30pm at the Canowindra Services Club.
Local residents Gail Davis and Jennifer Middleton are working along with plenty of encouragement from the Catholic Parish Priest, Father Laurie Beath to hold this Catholic Ball.
Canowindra’s first Catholic Debutante Ball was held in May 1935 with 18 debutantes. Canowindra haven’t had a Catholic Debutante Ball since 1983 or 1984.
The highlight of the evening will be a “retro debutante presentation” starring five original debutantes and their partners from yester-year. There is also a guest of honour being organised.
Gail Davis is excited to be involved in the organising of the Catholic Ball and said “We are reinventing the idea with old time and new vogue dancing.”
“It’s a bit of a twist with something different,” continued Gail.
A great night out is guaranteed with live music by Barry Whitty. A light supper will be provided and bar facilities will be available. Dress code is semi-formal with groups, couples and singles all encouraged to attend.

All proceeds from the evening will go to the Ukraine Refugees settling in Orange.
